Fluorspar is used directly or indirectly to manufacture products such as aluminum, gasoline, insulating foams, refrigerants, steel, and uranium fuel. All domestic sources of fluorspar are derived from sales of material from the National Defense Stockpile and from a small amount of synthetic fluorspar produced from industrial waste streams.
